How to split one image into multiple images
- Drop your image onto the page, or click Choose image.
- Set the number of columns and rows, or click Auto-detect grid.
- Drag the grid lines to resize any row or column; add a gutter or margin to skip seams and whitespace.
- For repeated crops, switch to Boxes, enable Multi-crop, draw one square or rectangle, and set rows × columns.
- Pick PNG, WebP, or JPG and click Export ZIP to download every piece.

Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. Slice runs entirely in your browser using the HTML canvas. Your image never leaves your device - there is no server, no account, and no upload. You can even use it offline once the page has loaded.
How do I split one AI image sheet into separate icons?
Load the image, switch to Grid mode, and enter the number of columns and rows that match the sheet (for example 4 × 4). If the icons are uneven or have whitespace between them, drag the grid lines like a table and adjust the Gutter and Margin so each crop captures just the icon. Then click Export ZIP to download every icon as its own file.
What image formats can I export?
PNG (with transparency preserved), WebP, and JPG. PNG and WebP keep transparent backgrounds; JPG flattens onto a white background.
Can it handle sprite sheets and tilesets?
Yes. Use Grid mode for uniform sprite sheets and tilesets, set columns and rows (and a gutter if the sheet has spacing), and export. For irregular sheets, use Lines mode to place cut lines exactly where you need them, or Boxes mode to draw individual regions.
Can it auto-detect the grid and resize the exported icons?
Yes. In Grid mode, click Auto-detect grid and it finds the rows and columns by locating the gutters (transparent or solid-colour bands) between icons, then drops the dividers in place so you can still nudge them. Under Export, the Resize option scales every output: Fit keeps each icon’s aspect ratio with a fixed longest side, or Stretch forces an exact width × height - handy for uniform icon sets.
Can I crop the same box across rows and columns?
Yes. In Boxes mode, turn on Multi-crop, draw one square or rectangle, set the number of rows and columns, and IconSlice repeats identical crop boxes across the image. You can then export every repeated crop together.
Is there a limit on image size or number of cells?
There is no artificial limit - you are bounded only by your device’s memory. Very large images and high cell counts are handled the same way; export simply takes a little longer.
How much does it cost?
It is completely free. There is no sign-up, no watermark, and no per-export limit.
Why this tool out of all the options?
Because I ran into this exact problem: fixed-grid splitters could not handle AI-generated icon sheets with uneven cells, and I needed a Confluence-like table grid where each divider could be adjusted separately. So I built one with draggable grid lines and Multi-crop for repeated crops.
